Charlie's Second Day

Good news!! Charlie was allowed out of ITU this morning and went up to the ward where Cathryn is recovering. He has started feeding and is looking much, much better than yesterday.

Charlie's Birth

Charlie was born by Ceaserian Section at Birmingham Women's Hospital at 9:32 this morning. He weighed 8lb 7oz (3.82 kg).

After having a bit of trouble breathing the doctors decided to transfer him to the ITU (intensive care). He was placed in an incubator and some blood tests and a chest x-ray were taken. By early evening the blood test results were back showing that there are no signs of infection but the x-ray showed some fluid in the lungs which eventually should be absorbed into the body without medical intervention. The doctors considered Charlie's breathing to have improved enough to be taken out of the incubator although he still remains in ITU tonight.

Then & Now

Hannah Berry and Madeline, Katie & Beth Hill came to stay last weekend. I had a lot of fun playing with them. We had our picture taken in the same place as we did the year before last...

This picture was taken in July 2005 when I was just 6 weeks old...

...and this one was taken in March 2007 when I'm 21 months old.

I know when my birthday will be...

My Mum & Dad went to the hospital today to see the consultant. I've been measured as being a big baby (over the 90% percentile).

Mum has been booked in for a Caesarean Section on 30 March 2007. I guess that's going to be my birthday!!
